Storyteller, gadfly, firmly grounded in reality but with a sense of humor about it.

I'm a writer who was born and raised in Wisconsin. I spent over 25 years in state government as a writer, researcher, marketing specialist, and web communications strategist. I received a Blue Pencil/Gold Screen Award from the National Association of Government Communicators for building a communications strategy and content on a major new initiative from the ground up - with no budget. My communications plans were requested by other state agencies as examples for enterprise-level work and plain language.I recently retired from state service and am working on a book about the legendary singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Bobby Caldwell. The book is being built on one-on-one interviews with Bobby's family, longtime collaborators, and musicians including Grammy Award-winning jazz artist Diane Schuur. It traces our collective history and the arc from analog to digital music. Bobby lived it, and his story deserves to be told.
